We are seeking a Cold Fusion 8 Developer for a financial data warehouse with PeopleSoft Development Experience to work on both a custom data warehouse application that integrates with our PeopleSoft's Financials (FMS), Supply Chain (SCM) and Enterprise Services Automation (ESA) Application Suites version 8.8. The position is located in New York, NY with frequent travel to Boston.
The Cold Fusion / SQL developer role will work directly with the original application developer to maintain, update and further develop this custom data warehouse application.
The candidate must have a solid work ethic and express a strong desire for application design in a team environment. This role is technically demanding and offers a creative minded thinker the opportunity to join a team that is focused on building better business processes. The candidate must be experienced in all stages of the software development life cycle: Requirements, Design, Development, Construction, Testing and Implementation.
Required Skills:
* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years experience designing and developing solutions.
* Cold Fusion 8 skills:
- 2+ years experience with ColdFusion 8 development, including coding, analysis, debugging and documentation.
- 2+ years experience with basic data modeling in relational databases (SQL Server, including stored procedures).
- 2+ years experience with AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Understand of web infrastructure, including web server software (e.g. IIS, Apache).
- Thorough knowledge of browser compatibility issues for all platforms.
- Prior knowledge of QA processes and quality methodologies a plus.
* PeopleSoft Development Skills (a+):
- PeopleTools, SQR, PeopleCode, PS Query, Application Designer, Application Engine, Data Mover, Integration Broker/Application Messaging, Security
- Experience with various PeopleSoft Report Development tools including: nVision, Crystal Reports, SQL, and Query
* Work with business teams to clarify requirements and business needs.
* Collaborate with other developers to determine optimal solution architecture, efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
* Ability to work independently, and efficiently, but also within a collaborative team environment.
* Analyzing specific report requests, gathering business requirements, identifying source data, implementing, developing, testing and deploying reports.
* Develop detailed estimates for projects, including resource allocation and timelines.
* Write and conduct test cases for developer unit testing.
* Effectively manage and conduct deployment of new or updated reports as scheduled.
* Carefully manage, conduct and document deployment of new or updated code.
* Implement company policies and processes for all types of development work (unit test discipline, participate in code reviews, etc.)
* Strong work ethic, excellent time management, project management and communication skills (verbal and written) required.
* Flexible attitude that enables the individual to deal with changing priorities.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
* Must be self motivated and be able to work independently.
Other Desired Qualifications:.
* Strong ERP application-level development skills and solid experience in financial report development.
* Portal development and deployment experience.
* Technical writing skills for the development of detailed report design specifications.
* Project Management experience. |
